Top Book Recommendation for Q1
By Steven Kotler & Jamie Wheal
Every so often, you find a book that changes your life in a very real way. Dr. Toni Best, our Chief Human Performance Officer, knew “Stealing Fire” was going to be one of those books before it was even released. The goal of this read is to inspire people to find a flow state. If you’re not familiar with the concept of Flow Genome, you will be after reading the book. Flow is a heady concept that examines the neuroscience and accessibility of peak performance. While psychedelics, music, and extreme physical activity are specifically mentioned in the book, finding flow could be as simple as a venture into nature or a creative brainstorming session. Our marketing and design team actually practices this with a monthly meeting – Creative Caffeine – to brainstorm ideas.
Honorable Mentions:
By Kip Tindell
It comes as no surprise that the man that is a pioneer of the home storage and organization industry would excel at finding the best ways to organize his people for optimal workplace performance. “Uncontainable” isn’t a new release but worth being on your to-read list this quarter. The book reads much more like a friend telling a story than a business book, but you will still walk away with a better understand of how to build or improve your company culture.
